Mercat del Ninot
Your Market
This emblematic Barcelona market, designed by Antoni de Falguera and Joaquim Vilaseca, is named after the figurehead on the prow of a brig that was being taken apart. It re-opened its doors in 2015 following a floor-to-ceiling renovation which lasted nearly five years.
The municipal market of the Eixample Izquierda débuted its new look both inside and out, with 81 stands, stunning displays, wide aisles, tasting bars, metal latticework throughout the façade, and street-facing stores built into the structure.
It also incorporated more modern services – a supermarket and public WiFi – as well as longer opening times in the mornings and afternoons, staying open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am – 9:15 pm.
